Wolfe Heights Wedding | Stephani + Derek

Here in Northern California, we are fortunate to have an abundance of wineries, ranches, farms, and other outdoor spaces to host weddings. If you live in Sacramento, you don’t have to go all the way to Napa for a winery wedding. In fact, you don’t even have to leave the county!

Wolfe Heights Estate in Vineyard, CA produces wine and olive oil, and hosts weddings in their gorgeous outdoor space. Stephani & Derek chose Wolfe Heights for their October 2019 wedding because of its natural beauty and ambiance, as well as its proximity to Sacramento. Keep scrolling for all the details and beautiful images from their Wolfe Heights wedding!

One nice feature of Wolfe Heights Estate is the Estate House, which is available for an additional fee. The house can accommodate up to eight overnight guests, and is perfect for the couple and some of their close friends to spend the night on-property.

The spacious rooms allow for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready on-site, with room for a hair and makeup team.  The front parlor is purposely sparsely furnished to leave plenty of space for portraits. And the olive groves are the perfect spot to stage a first-look photo session.

Stately trees filter the sunlight, creating a dreamy feel for couple portraits in the grove. And the grounds have a wooden bridge that makes for a cute photo op.

Stephani & Derek wanted an elegant outdoor wedding and chose a black-and-white color scheme with accents of gold. The bridesmaids wore black gowns, while the groom and groomsmen were decked out in black tuxedos.

Kelly Doan from LeLe Floral used primarily white flowers with pops of pink, and we chose anemones because their dark blue centers look black from a distance, making them the only black-and-white flower out there. Black and white trailing ribbons completed the look.

We rented tabletop items from Celebrations Party Rentals in Roseville, including their Parker gold flatware and their Jane white & gold plates and coffee cups. Black table linens contributed to the overall sense of elegance, while a black sequined tablecloth for the dessert table upped the glam factor.

Catering was provided by Randy Peters Catering, also of Roseville, while Ettore’s Bakery made the wedding cake (a strawberry cheesecake!) and desserts. We had cakepops dusted in gold sugar and cheesecake jars, which are exactly what they sound like—portable cheesecakes in Mason jars! The dessert table was a big hit with the guests.

Late October 2019 was unseasonably warm, so the 90 guests were quite comfortable outside on the patio throughout cocktail hour and dinner. Once the sun set, Wolfe Heights staff lit the firepits, where guests gathered to chat and drink. The ceremony site at Wolfe Heights is generally in the sun, but the venue provides parasols for any guests who would like to use them during the ceremony.

Wolfe Heights also has permanent string lighting throughout the grounds and on the dance floor, which is an extension of the patio dining area. Keep scrolling for some stunning photos of the property at dusk and after sunset. These photos from Mike Lukin of Lukin Photography show off the property in all its beauty.
